We, Tony McQuilken and Barry Goff, run a relatively small kennel, in Rowlands Castle, who keep our numbers low in order to maintain that personal touch with our dogs. We have been involved with this breed since 1993, plenty of memories along the way , meeting lots of wonderful people and their beautiful dogs. We have been privileged to have owned and bred some excellent examples of this breed. We have been actively involved in the breed clubs help lines for a number of years and we are happy to share our knowledge and experiences with any newcomers to this breed.

Our success in the show ring speaks for itself, multiple ‘Best in Show’ and ‘Best Puppy in Show’ wins. We are also the first kennel to have brother and sister, both, gain their ‘Show Certificate of merit’. Grace being the youngest Shar Pei to have gained this award at just over 12 months of age. We are also the first kennel to gain three stud book numbers with home bred dogs.

"Takalok" translates as ‘happy together’ and that’s how we try to live our lives - Us and our family of dogs. They are firstly our pets and companions and secondly our show dogs. We take pride in producing a higher caliber of dog, healthy in mind and body and maintaining the unique features of this breed.

All genuine enquiries welcome from those wishing to permanent pet or show homes, or from those wishing to use our dogs at stud. We also export overseas and welcome international enquiries.

Tony is an experienced judge who judges various breeds and awards CC's in Shar Pei.
